El Nasr Mining Company (N.M.C), established in 1960 as "El Nasr Phosphate Company," is one of Egypt's biggest mining companies and a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries. The company was the leading producer of phosphate rock in Egypt with capacity of 5 Mt/yr. N.M.C mines and exports ball clay, barite, gypsum, ilmenite, iron oxide, kaolin, magnesite, phosphate rock, quartz, and talc from three export ports at Abu Ghusun, Hamrawein, and Safaga on the Red Sea.
